Psychotherapy At JADE

Regain Balance. Restore Peace. Find Recovery

If you or a loved one needs help, we are here to help.

Psychotherapy is the therapeutic treatment of mental illness provided by a trained mental health professional.  Psychotherapy explores thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and seeks to improve an individual’s well-being. Jade provides individual, group, and family therapy to help patients eliminate or control disabling or troubling symptoms to increase functionality and overall quality of life, free from distress and impairment.

Though their reasons for visiting a counselor may vary, Americans consistently indicate the experience was very positive (47%). Another 29 percent say it was somewhat positive (Barna Research). Additionally the survey found 42% of U.S. adults have seen a counselor at some point, while 36% are open to it.

Over the last decade however, the American Psychological Association reports psychotherapy has been in decline while the use of medications to treat mental and behavioral issues has increased.

Know the Facts

Psychotherapy is effective, helps reduce the overall need for health services and produces long-term health improvements according to a review of research studies conducted by the American Psychological Association (APA)

Large multi-site and meta-analytic studies have demonstrated that psychotherapy reduces disability, morbidity and mortality; improves work functioning; and decreases psychiatric hospitalization.

Psychotherapy teaches patients life skills that last beyond the course of treatment. The results of psychotherapy tend to last longer than psychopharmacological treatments and rarely produce harmful side effects.
